Daily we make intercession, praying for opportunities to open up in our lives, yet when God opens up a door, it is marred by lots of opposition from people all around us. All of a sudden, there’s someone at work fighting you because you got a promotion. From nowhere enemies just mushroom left, right and centre. You become a target of ridicule, segregation, hatred, envy and gossip. And it is not funny sometimes how the same people who were “praying with you” for the miracle turn out to be the same people who begin to hate on you when the doors open up until you start to doubt whether it was God who really answered the prayers.
See, I have said this before and I’ll say it again. In this walk of life, opportunities sometimes come wrapped up inside a challenge. The mistake we do is we look at the challenge and we walk away yet what we really need to do is unwrap the challenge and take the opportunity presented to us. Nothing worth its salt comes easy, life in nature was never designed to be a smooth ride. It is the ups and downs, the highs and lows that make life what it is. Life, like the piano, is the combination of the white and black keys that makes the melody sweeter.
Tonight, this is what the Spirit of the Lord is saying to us even as we wrap up this year. The Lord is going to open up doors in 2017. Great gates are about to open up; God is about to overflow His children with floodgates of opportunities but it is not going to be easy because adversaries are going to spring up as well. It is the reason David says in Psalms 23:5 (NIV),
See, for every level of success God lifts you up, there is an equally higher level of opposition that hits you but as apostle Paul says, we are more than conquerors in Christ Jesus.
Life favours the bold, so let’s put on our seat belts and get onto this ride called life, let’s seize the moments, grab the opportunities that God is presenting to us and let’s embrace the challenges that come with these opportunities. We were wired to succeed.
Child of God, behold, An Open Door!
