Job 23:10 But he knoweth the way that I take: when he hath tried me, I shall come forth as gold
You know the way that I take,
You know how many turns and twists I’ll need to take,
You know how many hills I’ll have to climb
The battles I will face
The storms I’ll endure
The hurdles I’ll need to jump over
You know how many pauses I will make
The choices I will make
For you know the beginning from the end
You know the road I’m on
You know my coming in and my lying down
You know when I sit and when I rise;
You perceive my thoughts from afar
He knoweth the way that I take
It’s not gon' happen tomorrow
It will take some time
It is a journey, not a sprint
And I’m not done yet
I’m work in progress
I haven’t arrived
I’m just getting started
But this I know
That even though I walk through
The valley of the shadow of death
I will fear no evil
For thy rod and thy staff, they comfort me
I’m not out yet
I don’t know for how long I’ll be in the fire
I don’t know how fierce the furnace will be
But when my faith has been tested
I know how the story ends
I know I won’t burn
For when He has tried me
I’ll come forth as gold
He knoweth the way that I take
So I won’t be jaded by life
I’m going to enjoy it instead
For I know He who has gone before me
The one who was there in the beginning
The one who for my sake became flesh
And I made up my mind to begin with Him
So, I count not myself to have apprehended:
But this one thing I do,
Forgetting those things which are behind,
Forgetting the fears that might arise
Forgetting disappointments
Refusing to dwell on the past
Letting go of all the hurt
Seeking forgiveness for the crimes I’ve committed
I embrace the journey ahead
Reaching forth unto those things which are before me,
I press toward the mark
For the prize of the high calling
He knoweth the way that I take
