The head speaks of leadership and government. The head was meant to give direction. The body depends on the head to give direction in life and that’s why Christ is the head of the church and the husband is the head of the wife.
This is the reason David says you anoint my head with oil, not my hands, not my feet, not my back but my head. When the head is anointed, the oil flows to the whole body even unto the hem of Aaron’s garment.
The greatest calamity of life is living a headless life because we have not learnt to separate how we feel from what we know. A lot of us are living our lives from a heart place rather than the head place. We are having a heart experience in a head fight.
We are losing focus of what God has destined for us because we allow ourselves to be governed with imaginations of what if’s, maybe’s and suppose. But today thus says the spirit of the Lord that we are
Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that is exalted against the knowledge of God, and bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ; 2 Corinthians 10:5 [ASV]
The slave masters knew it when they forbade slaves from going to school and learning how to read and write. They allowed slaves to be taught every other thing including operating machines on the farms and cooking but not how to read and write because they knew if slaves got it into their head, it would get into their lives.
There is a point in life where you feel love for someone and there is a point in the same life where you choose to love that someone. Everything is a choice and those choices are made in our heads. If there was ever a time where it would be important for anyone not to lose their heads it is now. Especially now that you know as you begin anything in this walk of life, you begin with the knowledge that God knows the way and if He knows the way then it is no longer you but Him who lives in you. The two of you have now become one because you said I do. I do to doing life with Him, Him who knows your when.
See, the devil doesn’t fight what you feel because emotions are subject to biases. He is after what you know. You know you are healed, you know you’re destined for greatness, you know you are the head and not the tail, you know the promises of God are yeah and amen, you know even when you can’t feel Him, God is still working in your life and that’s what the devil comes for. He projects imaginations and thoughts that are against the knowledge of God. “Did God really say you shouldn’t eat of this fruit?” “What if you turned these stones into bread?”
How convicted are you about your relationship with God? How deep is your revelation of the things God has promised you no matter how long it takes and how uncertain the situation seems? How certain is your heart? What do you know? What’s in your head? How well do you know God for yourself? Because there’s a difference between knowing about God and knowing God.
Listen, life is governed by what you know and not what you feel. Jesus was feeling hungry, but it was the knowledge that man shall not live on bread alone that made the whole difference. Beloved, let the word of Christ richly dwell in you so that you may live soberly able to admonish and teach one another in all wisdom.
