The Two Shall Become One

Between making small talk or just out of curiosity or whether I was looking for a sign or perhaps for the love of deep conversations I just wanted to ask one more personal question before the bust left I don’t know. All I know is I found myself looking deep into her eyes and of all the questions on earth someone could ask, “when do you see yourself getting married?” Is the question I asked shocking myself as much as I did her. “Twenty twenty-two” she said smiling, looking at me and without blinking.

It is now two years since that conversation and I’m in the middle of doing my daily morning devotion when my eyes land on this scripture.

Genesis 41:1 Two full years later, Pharaoh dreamed that he was standing on the bank of the Nile River.

What Are The Chances?

What are the chances that that conversation is coming to mind now? In month number two of the year? The year that is composed of two and two? What are the chances that I’m writing this now? What are the chances that Joseph had two dreams?

In prison he finds two people who have two dreams that need interpretation? And that two years later after he had been thrown in jail, Pharaoh too has two dreams?

What are the chances that Joseph becomes the number two most powerful man in Egypt after Pharaoh?

What are the chances that Joseph ends up having two sons? What are the chances that the law of Moses can be summarized in just two commandments? Love for God and love for man!

What are the chances that even the shortest verse in the Bible is just two words? Jesus wept!

The number two signifies union. It is a number that represents balance. The number two is the embodiment of partnership. No one ever promised that this walk of life will be easy, because we don’t go by what we see with our naked eyes, it is a walk of faith that we are to partner with God and walk through this journey trusting Him with every single step because He knows the way.

Partner With God

No one makes it in this life alone, life was meant to be a partnership and the greatest of all those partnerships, the basic foundation of all partnerships is the partnership between humanity and God. It might not come when you thought it would, it might not happen how you thought it would, it might take longer than you expected but hey, there’s a reason why in God’s math, the two shall become one. It is no-wonder that the Bible says of Enoch, that he walked with God until he was no more. He ceased to be him and it became all about God just as Paul says it is no longer I that liveth but Christ lives in me.

Partner with God, allow Him to take preeminence.
